The Turn Me On project is the sexual education project of PATENT Association. Our main goal is to provide sexual education materials to the youth created by their peers. The project took place between 2016-2019 and was funded by the Open Society Foundations.
During the years our work has had two main forms: we held sexual education classes in schools, and we had recruited a volunteer group from teenagers, who participated in our one-year long training and created educational materials (blog and vlog posts) for their peers (our materials are only available in Hungarian). The main topics we address are sexual and reproductive health and rights of girls and women, with a special focus on contraception and abortion, sexual violence, heteronormativity, and gender inequality. The Turn Me On project’s aim was to provide a comprehensive sexual education, which addresses the current sexual culture’s harmful messages and effects, and encourages the youth to open discussion on equality-based sexuality.
